The Philippine Canine Club, Inc. was formed principally for the protection and advancement of pure-bred dogs. The objects of the corporation as stated in its Articles of Incorporation as "to adopt and enforce uniform rules governing dogs shows and field trials, to regulate the conduct of person interested in exhibiting, breeding and registering, dogs to detect and prevent frauds in connection therewith, to protect the interests of its members, to maintain and publish an official stud book and an official kennel gazette, and generally to do everything to advance the study, breeding exhibiting running and maintenance of the purity of pure-bred dogs.

THE BREED OF PUREBRED DOGS DIVIDED BY GROUPS NOW RECOGNIZED BY THE PHILIPPINE CANINE CLUB, INC. AS BEING DISTINCT BREEDS OF PURE-BRED DOGS . THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE PHILIPPINE CANINE CLUB, INC. MAY ADD OTHER BREEDS TO THE LIST OF REGISTRABLE BREEDS AS INDICATED FROM THE LIST OF BREEDS OF REGISTRABLE BREEDS OF PUREBRED DOGS RECOGNIZED BY THE FEDERACION CYNOLOGIQUE INTERNATIONALE. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ALSO MAY REMOVE ANY BREED FROM THE SAID LIST OF REGISTRABLE BREEDS OR MAY TRANSFER ANY BREED FROM ONE GROUP TO ANOTHER WHENEVER IN ITS OPINION SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE IS PRESENTED TO THE BOARD TO JUSTIFY SUCH REMOVAL OR TRANSFER.

DOG SHOWS
LICENSED JUDGE refers to a person possessing knowledge, experience and qualification to evaluate a dog's conformation to its particular breed standard, and as such, is granted an authority by his/her kennel club to render judgment and award championship points on the breed, group or all breeds where he/she is licensed.
DOG SHOW OR SHOW refers to an Affiliated Club's dog shows as sanctioned by PCCI or Fun Matches conducted by clubs seeking affiliation with PCCI as well as those sponsored by PCCI. A PCCI sanctioned show refers to a duly approved dog show officiated by licensed judge(s) and conducted in accordance with PCCI Rules.
TYPES OF PCCI SANCTIONED SHOWS
POINTED SHOWS - PCCI Sanctioned Show or Championship Dog Show is a conformation dog show where a winner is judged in accordance with its proximity to the breed standards, where championship points are awarded and titles are earned. The show and the officiating licensed judge(s) must be approved by the ACC: Breed Specialty Show, Group Show, All Breed Show, FCI International Show - conducted under FCI rules where CACIB awards are given and AKU Show - conducted under the normal rules with special titles awarded
NON-POINTED SHOWS - Obedience Trials which are demonstrates the usefulness of purebred dogs as a companion of man and to follow specified routines. Only a licensed Obedience Judge can officiate the show. There are 3 levels, CD - Companion Dog; CDX - Companion Dog Excellent; and UD - Utility Dog. Sieger Show or Landesgrupen Show is a non-pointed German Shepherd Dog Show coducted under the rules of SV (Germany). Fun matches are shows where in dogs entered must be PCCI registered but are not Champions of Record. A "Parade of Champions" or similar event may also be held on the same day but it should not be a part of the Fun Match. Any PCCI member in good standing with a fair knowledge of dogs or aspiring for a judging license can judge a Fun Match. Fun Matches must be conducted in accordance with the PCCI Show Rules. Prior Approval is required before a Fun Match can be conducted. Results of the match must be submitted to PCCI within one week.
PCCI OFFICIAL BREED STANDARDS
The Philippine Canine Club, Inc. adopts the breeds standards by the American Kennel Club, Inc. as well as the standard by the SV for the German Shepherd Dog. All Other breeds shall conform to the standards of the Federacion Cynologique Internationale.
