In the beginning, God created man, but seeing him so feeble, He gave him the dog. TOUSSENEL No civilization is complete when it does not include the dumb and the defenseless of God's creatures within the sphere of charity and mercy. LA REINE VICTORIA The Cob at ASOCASA is manned around the clock by a dozen dog caregivers with a ration of 8 to 10 dogs per human, patrolled by of course, the Cob Dogs on duty with their human counterparts 24 hours a day. The Cob Staff keep everything in order. The day starts as early as 5 when dogs are fed, turn by turn taken out in the doggie playground to take care of their businesses and for their morning romp. Play and interaction among dogs and humans is the best exercise and stimulation of the canine intellect. At this time, individual kennels are scrubbed, brushed, disinfected and power-washed. Those awaiting their turn for a romp are individually checked and daily dosage of vitamins are administered. Dog shows are fun for both staff and the dogs. Win or lose, it doesn't really matter. Everybody gets to picnic. Both our staff and dogs need a break from the daily routine of the good life at the Cob Kennels. The dogs not only take turns in the morning and afternoon romps in the playground, others are taken for quick disp in the doggie pool. The dogs, too take turns sleeping inside the house for proper socialization. All are show-trained, some do obedience work and others are starting on agility commands. This, the Cob Staff provide. At Cob, we believe in natural rearing coupled of course with preventive measures such as annual vaccinations, monthly check-ups by Dr. and Dra. Sicam. Daily doses of multi-vitamins administered by the staff. Nails are clipped every week. Baths are every two weeks except of course, those that are shown get extra grooming but yes ... not all the time. Yes, the Cob Dogs have entered show rings without being brushed. All the dogs are weighed every 2 weeks and food is adjusted according to weight gain or loss. The Cob Kennels have been blessed with dedicated staff who are dog lovers themselves. It makes it easier to work when work is just play! At Cob, both dogs and humans live a good life! The behaviour of men to the lower animals, and their behaviour to each other, bear a constant relationship. HERBERT SPENCER
