Living With Dogs, An Alternative Lifestyle WHEN YOU THINK YOU WANT A DOG! ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?
When You have been with dogs all through out your life, you think you just know everything about them. Or at least you think. Living with them and realizing how different it is from other lives especially those who have never been blessed with the most loyal companions can be the most learning experience one can have. It most definitely is one that touches the heart.
While it is a common belief that blood is thicker than water, first and foremost, it is imperative that members of the family accept the dog as a another member. In so doing, the dog regards his family, his pack.
Although a dog's love for its master is the only love money can buy and is given unconditionally, treating dogs right is not just by fabricating kennels, playgrounds or giving them imported dog food. It involves a lot of tender loving care, socialization and a lot of responsibilities along with it.
Showing dogs is not just conditioning, grooming and training dogs. It is not just the ribbons, the rosettes, medals and trophies. It is a sport, win or lose and ... IT IS A GENTLEMAN'S SPORT!
To win, the dog must come closest to the standard of perfection. We know that perfection is just a state of mind.
We also know that each mind has its own ...
We are just asking the judge's opinion of the dogs we show. If one does not value another's opinion, therefore one must not show his/her dog. Or maybe, that one should work on becoming "THE JUDGE". In the world of Purebred Sport or the world of dogs in general, we meet people from all walks of life and develop meaningful and bonding, some lasting to lifetime relationships. We all have one thing common. OUR LOYAL COMPANIONS AND THE LOVE WE HAVE FOR DOGS!
AND WITH SUCH PASSION!
It is essential for dog-lovers to find suitable mates just as we painstakingly research on bloodlines, faulty genes, form to breed our dogs. When we vow to spend the rest of our life with someone, "someone" should have the same passion for dogs. And so, the family lives happily ever after living with dogs and living a dogged life!
At Cob, please keep your kids on leash ... dogs are on the lose. When you are in our territory, you are in our territory and in our dogs' turf. We have an affinity to herding breeds. They are in general breeds not meant for first-time-dog-owners and require more skills and experience. They are more on the aloof, standoffish side of the spectrum, very territorial. Speaks about us and the alternative lifestyle we chose to live.
Herding dogs chase cattle and sheep or anything that seems to be running away from the herd. They stare the flock down, bark, snarl, growl or nip them and bump or jump on them. We have no desire to breed out these natural instincts and breed traits that bespeak of their character as stated in the breed standards. Our dogs will not differentiate running wild kids from flock. Keep your kids on leash while visiting Cob. We take no responsibility for your kids provocations. KEEP THEM UNDER YOUR CONTROL AT ALL TIMES LIKE WE DO OURS ... OUR DOGS, OUR KIDS!
