"THE TOY POODLE IS QUITE GREGARIOUS AND AS SUCH LIKES CHILDREN AND OTHER LITTLE PEOPLE QUITE A LOT."

- The Poodle was developed as an able-bodied water dog and hunter.  The breed quickly became admired for its super canine intelligence.  Efforts in the past century to miniaturized the Miniature Poodle oftentimes resulted in a feeble-bodied smaller dog, which had a rather grotesque appearance and waned in comparison to their handsome forebears.

- 20th-century attempts were less scornfully accepted, and today's Toy Poodle is sturdily constructed.  He was never intended for work and likewise lacks the necessary size to make him believable as a working dog.

- The clipping of his coat is purely traditional and doesn't feign to be more than ornamental.

- Elegant and proud, the Toy Poodle is well balanced and tiny.  He is really a delightful companion if not spoiled.  He tends to favor one family member, usually the lady of the house, and will defend her honor at all costs.  In our case, my mother, the real alpha bitch in our turf.
